goodman brown Q's

1) the allegory for this story is simply that there are many fine struggles between faith and the devil.
2) the staff- symbolizes that he is the devil. and it shows even more to be true when he makes it come to life.
the pink ribbons- symbolizes how goodman brown shouldn't lose his faith.
his wife faith's name- similar to the ribbons, symbolizes faith its self. and how every time he walks away from her. he is also walking away from faith itself.
3) at first i thought they were real. but at the end of the story Goodman Brown was in his Grave. and i think it was all just an illusion he was having while he was on his death bed of the temptations one can have in life between the devil and faith.
4) Young Goodman Brown; Faith; Deacon Gookin; Goody Cloyse; Goody Cory; the devil;
5) the devils walking stick. which he through down and it came to life. which alludes too the Egyptian priests.
6)i liked the story. at first i though i wasn't, because of all the allusions and symbols. once i understood them. i really liked it. i especially liked the allusions and symbols between faith and the devil
7) yes. he tied the characters well. he thought them through and was very critical of them. and he was great with there names or what them carried on them to symbolize something greater.
8)the theme of this story is how evil can come out at any point and struggles one might have between the devil and faith
