chp 6

a reporter from new york comes over to mr. gatsby's house to ask him about his life. thats when nick informs her about how he started out as poor nobody from when he was seventeen. he includes everything from then until the man you see today. about how Dan Cody was his mentor and gave him food, clothes, and place to sleep. until mr. cody mysteriously dies and his wife takes everything. including the money he set aside for mr. gatsby. tom doesn't not like gatsby. he is starting to have an idea that there might be something between gatsby and daisy. and is insulting by both of them all night. with daisy giving him a pencil to write girls addresses and gatsby saying he "knows" his wife and by calling him the "polo player".
by now you start to see a big change in mr. gatsby's parties now that he doesnt need to impress daisy anymore.
